Attraction: Houses of Parliament


Description This Victorian gothic building, built in 1840, is where both chambers of the British Parliament sit. It was built to replace the original structure which was destroyed by fire in 1834. The only part of the old building left is Westminster Hall, originally built in 1099, was seat of the British Monarch from the 11th to the 16th century.
