Travelling in London during the Tube strikeStaff will be on hand at every mainline London station on Tuesday and will be issuing leaflets showing all buses serving the stations. There will also be special maps issued for people wanting to walk to their destination. There are VERY limited shuttle services on the Victoria Line calling at Victoria, Oxford Circus, Euston and King's Cross only. There is also a very limited service on the Northern Line between Moorgate and Finchly Central, and on the Piccadilly Line between Cockfosters and Arnos Grove. If you are planning on trying to use these services, please confirm your journey with TfLs London Travel Information Line on 020 7222 1234. There will be a free boat service, capable of transporting 1500 people an hour running during the strike from 6am to 10am, and 4.20pm until 8pm on Thursday. This will call at Waterloo, Westminster, Embankment, Blackfriars and Tower piers. DLR services are unaffected by the strike, and an enhanced service will be running on the Stratford via Canary Wharf branch to help cover Jubilee line services. Tubeplanner.com recommends that you don't travel to London on these days if at all possible. If you must travel, we suggest you call the London Travel Information line on 020 7222 1234 for up to the minute information on services. Remember that our station information pages contain links to streetmaps of the area around each station if you are walking. Tuesday, 2nd October 2002 |
